Public Trees at 42.32 N 71.12 W

My 19-year-old son ran over to this sharp stump of a tree today on the corner of Jamaica and Highland roads. It's a bit of a concern that it was left like that. It should be removed immediately or covered with something so that a child doesn't fall on it because the wood is so hard and sharp that someone could be impaled by it.
